Did you know that “I hate my Job” gets searched on Google twelve thousand times a month?! 50% of those searches are from the US and 15% from the UK. That’s a lot of disillusioned employees who feel that their strongest skills and abilities are imprisoned in a dungeon somewhere back in the dark ages.

With the doom and gloom of the global economic downturn, the behaviour of some companies and employers has been deteriorating.

Nik and I are writing this book because we both, in our varied employment history, know what it’s like to work for such a company. But moreso, we have more and more damaged clients coming to us who are at the end of their tether because they put up with the crap for too long, and now they are beaten down and exhausted.

We’re taking the humorous approach here to make these issues easier to think about, and to inspire you with some confidence that if you feel stuck with the wrong company, you can unstick yourself with the right approach.

We wish you all the very best,
Nik and Nicole

I hate my Job I Love my Job Choosing the right company for you! eBook Nicole O'Driscoll Nik Lemmens

In today's troubled economic times, it is easy to lose focus and accept below par working conditions as a price
one has to pay for a stable job. Many companies take an unfair advantage of it, and strive for the bottom line
without regard to employees' satisfaction.

This versatile little guide shows that one does not have to settle in order to have a satisfying job or career. By use
of questionnaire, authors help you identify your needs and in later chapters, they shows you how to find a
company that might be a good fit for you. I personally liked the stress that authors put on paying attention to
details, for example when you go for an interview, make sure to access working conditions, such as: daylight,
sunlight, desk sizes, air-conditioning and even what color the walls are painted. Nobody would want to work in a
grey, humid little room, the size of a prison cell, for 8 hours every day.

Finding a right company or trying re-launching your career is not easy. But with right attitude and tools that this
guide gives you, you at least stand a fighting chance.

This really got me on track to what I need to do. It's so easy to read and follow but still being extremely informative. It really got me thinking but most of all - taking action. I want to find a job I love that I'm also good. I have always been wanting to find a job like this but never had the info or the motivation to do so until I read this book. Glad I got it. Thanks!!
This book is very helpful when it comes to redirecting your path in your career. It is highly informative and well stated. It helps you to understand the first steps in choosing your career. As an owner of a recruitment business for the past 16 years, I can certainly relate to what the authors are saying in this book. On a daily basis my team gets calls from disgruntled employees looking to move on, frequently devoid of ideas as to where they want to go and what they want to do. This book provides a fantastic well researched guide on how to take control of your career. There's lots of practical guidance on how to look at your needs and wants and how best to address them. Employers should take note as well, they have to make the effort to retain their best staff or risk losing them and then facing the cost of recruiting replacements!
I absolutely loved this book. It breaks down every important aspect of working in the US today. Pinpointing every possible area to be aware of when looking for a place of employment. They give excellent tips and examples that I never would have thought of. If you are in serious need of a job change I highly recommend reading this. It will help a lot!
Although I have never gone as far as Googling "I hate my job", I certainly understand the feeling. For me, it also paralyzed me, as I was feeling that I could not find another job, and I was stuck with this one. This book helps you to look at the situation with more humor, and give good advice to let you go find another job. Anyone who is stuck at work, and cant seem to dig yourself out of the hole can benefit from both the humor and the advice the authors give out.
Anyone who hates their job or are feeling overlooked at their current job has got to take a look at this book. First the book will help you to identify your personal wants and needs in your life and goes on to teach you how to find the right job for you. This book really puts you in the right state of mind when changing your career path. The book is a pretty quick read, easy to use, and contains loads of helpful tips and info when looking for the job that is right for you. Highly recommend to anyone who is unsatisfied at their current job and looking to make a change for the better.
With the doom and gloom of our current global economic downturn, and companies taking advantage of their employees, this new book is a "Godsend". In today's world, employers treat their staff badly cos "they can", they hide behind bureaucratic jargon about getting the best from their staff and for some reason, are allowed to get away with it!

Our authors Nik and Nicole write with a humorous approach to make the issues easier to think about and hopefully see the light.

I loved the real life stories, I think everyone can relate to them quite easily.

The exercises to do on paper are excellent to get you in touch with your ladder of career needs too.

I recommend this E-book for those who
*feel there's a lack of recognition or doors are being closed on career advancement instead of being opened
*are experiencing training and/or supervisors frustrations
*discrimination issues.
